Women's Soccer Falls at #11 Chicago

Violets' Record Falls to 7-3-3

The New York University women's soccer team dropped a University Athletic Association (UAA) match, 2-0, at #11 University of Chicago on Sunday, October 16 in Chicago, IL.

NYU's record fell to 7-3-2 overall and 0-2-2 in UAA action, while the hosts are now 12-1-0 overall and 3-1-0 in Association play.

Chicago scored its first goal in the 25th minute off the foot of Madori Spiker. She finished a cross from teammate Jenna McKinney for her sixth goal of the season. 

The Maroons added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute when McKinney beat NYU goalkeeper Cassie Steinberg in a one-on-one situation for her ninth goal of the season.

Inside the Box Score:

- Steinberg made three saves on the afternoon. The senior captain has now made 54 stops on the season in 66 chances.

- Seven different Violets took a shot in the loss, including Charlotte Herbertz who led the way with two.

- Chicago goalkeeper Katie Donovan made three saves to earn her seventh shutout of the season.

NYU will return to action on Thursday, October 20, when the Violets host Stockton University. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
