The New York University men's soccer team fell to University Athletic Association (UAA) foe #2 University of Chicago, 5-0, on Sunday, October 16 in Chicago, IL.
NYU is now 5-6-2 on the season and 1-3-0 in UAA play. Chicago remains the only undfeated team in the Association, with its record improving to 14-0 overall and 4-0 in UAA action.
The Maroons had a 1-0 lead at halftime after benefitting from an NYU own goal at the 17:39 mark.
Chicago added four goals in the second half, with Max Lopez scoring twice and assisting on a goal Brenton Desai. The fifth Maroons' goal was scored by Gary Zhao.
NYU was outshot 16-4, including 11-3 in shots on goal. Goalkeepers
Lucas Doucette and
Grant Engel combined to make six saves for the Violets. Offensively,
Petter Aasa led NYU with two shots, one of which landed on target.
The Violets return to action on Thursday, October 20, when they travel to Kings Point, NY, to take on SUNY Maritime. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
