Results

The New York University men's swimming & diving team defeated West Chester University by a score of 190-110 on Saturday, October 15, at the Palladium Athletic Facility in Manhattan.

Junior swimmer Tim Kou won the 100-yard breaststroke event with a time of 56.27, a new Palladium pool record. He also took first place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:05.19), 200-yard medley relay (1:33.38) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:10.34).

The Violets dominated in the pool, taking first place in 10 out 14 events. Sophomore Joe Del Buono finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (21.40) and 100-yard butterfly (51.38).

Sophomore diver Connor Brisson took first place in the one-meter competion (288.01), finishing ahead of West Chester diver Dan Roy (282.61). Brisson also took second place in the three-meter competition (307.75).

"The team really came through," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "We lost to these guys last year, so they really stepped it up to swim that fast so early in the season. We're looking forward to a few more hard weeks of training to get ready for the NYU Invite coming up."

Highlights:

- Freshman Carlos Colmenares finished first in the 200-yard backstroke (1:55.32) and second in the 100-yard backstroke (52.86).

- Freshman David Bravo finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:00.76).

NYU will be back in action at the NYU Fall Invitational on Friday-Saturday, November 4-5, at the Palladium Athletic Facility. The event will begin at 5:00 pm on Friday and 10:00 am on Saturday.
