Women’s Volleyball Set to Compete at UAA Championship

Violets Square Off Against Host Carnegie Mellon in First Match on Friday

2014 University Athletic Association Championship

The New York University women's volleyball team travels to Pittsburgh this weekend for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship. The event will take place at Carnegie Mellon University on Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8.

The Violets (19-16, 2-5 UAA) are the #6 seed in the eight-team tournament and will square off against host Carnegie Mellon (21-9, 5-2) in their first match Friday at 2:00 pm. NYU will look to avenge a loss to the Tartans earlier this season.

Depending on the outcome of their first match, the Violets will face either #2 Emory University (31-3, 6-1) or #7 University of Rochester (16-17, 1-6) later on Friday. Tournament play will wrap up Saturday with the third, fifth, and seventh-place matches at 10:00 am and the championship match at 1:00 pm.

Last season, NYU finished in fifth-place at the UAA Championship, which was hosted by Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
