The New York University Mens soccer team used two second-half goals to propel them to a 3-0 victory over Medgar Evers College on Saturday, September 27, at Riverbank State Park in Upper Manhattan.

Dana Boskoff opened the scoring for the Violets as he dropped a shot into the far corner to give NYU an early 1-0 lead. Max Sachar collected his first career point as he assisted on Boskoffs second goal of the season.

The Cougars began the second half with ferocity as they peppered the Violets net with four consecutive shots. But, NYU keeper Adam Colunga withstood the flurry and made two saves to preserve the Violets one-goal lead.

NYU scored next at the 65:04 mark as James Walkinshaw netted a beautiful pass from Jon Simos. Simos lofted his pass over the defense, then Walkinshaw gathered the ball and fired a rocket into the near corner for the goal.

Scott Gwartz closed the scoring as he recorded his first goal of the season at the 89:33 mark. He rifled a shot from 18-yards out.

NYU outshot Medgar Evers 15-8 and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Colunga registered four saves for the Violets, while Ancil Steeple totaled seven for the Cougars.

NYU will return to action on Wednesday, October 1, when they travel to Purchase, NY, to face the Valiants of Manhattanville College at 4pm.
