The NYU wrestling team returns to competition for the first time in two weeks when the grapplers face Hunter College on Friday, Dec. 4, at the Hunter Sportsplex, located at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan.
NYU was victorious in last year's meeting between the two NYC rivals, posting a 22-15 win on Nov. 1.
NYU's last competition also took place within the NYC limits. On Nov. 22 the team defeated Yeshiva University 42-9 on the Maccabees' uptown Manhattan campus.
Head coach Bruce Haberli's squad has posted a 3-3 dual meet record so far this season. In addition to its win over Yeshiva, NYU has also defeated York College (30-8) and the College of Mount St. Joseph (30-15) during the 2009-10 campaign.
Junior Gregg Martino (141 pounds) leads the squad win seven wins this season, while freshman Justin Murberg (HWT) leads with four falls.
Following the Hunter match, NYU returns to the mat the next, hosting Franklin & Marshall University at the Coles Sports Center on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 5:00pm.
