Men’s Soccer Draws A Tie With Manhattanville

The New York University men's soccer team played Manhattanville College to a 0-0 tie after two overtimes on Wednesday, October 1, in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Jake Storlarski led the Violets (4-1-2) with six shots, while Scott Gwartz and James Walkinshaw each recorded two shots. NYU outshot the Valiants (5-5-1) 14-13 in the contest.

Adam Colunga, who has not allowed a goal in the last 290 minutes, recorded six saves for the Violets. He made a crucial save with 42 seconds remaining in the second overtime to preserve the tie for the Violets. Manhattanville keeper AJ Kretschmer was outstanding for the Valiants as he registered 13 saves.

NYU's defense has allowed only two goals all season and has lowered its goals against average to 0.28.

The Violets return to action on Saturday, October 4, at 10:00am when they host Case Western Reserve University. It is the first University Athletic Association match of the season for both teams.
