The NYU Club Baseball Team completed its last season as a Club Team in the Spring of 2016. NYU does not allow a sport to be offered as both a Varsity and a Club intercollegiate sport. The decision to temporarily suspend the long-standing NYU prohibition against offering a sport as both club and varsity was a direct result of the merger of NYU and NYU-Poly. NYU’s decision to offer baseball as both varsity and club sports was done for a clearly defined period to allow those students who entered NYU and NYU-Poly in 2012-13 an opportunity to have a roster spot if they chose to tryout and compete for four seasons.
