2010 CSCAA Scholar All-American Team
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced its 2010 Scholar All-American Team, and the NYU men's swimming and diving team is well represented.
Diver Max Norris received All-American status, while swimmers Bryson Naylor and James Bedell received Honorable Mention recognition.
To be named a Scholar All-American, swimmers must have qualified for the NCAA Championship meet and have achieved a cumulative grad point average of 3.50 or higher. Honorable Mention selections must have achieved a NCAA consideration time ("B" cut) and a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
The University Athletic Association (UAA) Diver of the Year, Norris placed 15th in the three-meter dive and 20th in the one-meter dive at the NCAA Championships, receiving Honorable Mention All-American accolades in the three-meter.
"I am very pleased with Max, Bryson and James earning Scholar All-American honors," said head coach Bob Sorensen. "They work hard in the classroom as well as in the pool and are very deserving of the honor. They are an excellent example to the rest of our team."
NYU's cumulative grade point average of 3.41, tied for 10th-highest in Division III.
