UAA Championships - Meet Results

The freshman tandem of Kirsten Keller and Hannah Satzke led the way for the Violets on the first day of competition at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Track & Field Championships at Washington University in St. Louis.

Each of the first-year runners for NYU produced third-place finishes on Saturday.

Keller competed in the 10,000 meters and finished in third place with a time of 36:58.35. Satzke's third-place showing was in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Her time was 11:30.45.

Each performance was worth six points in the team scoring.

Another freshman, Kerra Vick, earned three points for her sixth-place finish in the 10,000m (38:33.05).

Senior captain Caitlin Gibson competed in preliminary heats of the 100- and 200-meter dashes. She qualified for Sunday's finals in both events, finishing fourth (career-best 12.54) and sixth (26.58), respectively, in those races.

Another senior, Kathryn Shannon, qualified for the finals of the 400 meters with a seventh-place, personal-best time of 59.68.

Updated team scores were not immediately available.

The two-day competition continues on Sunday morning at 9:30am (CST).
