Norris Named UAA Athlete of the Week

Junior Honored for Top Performance at NCAA Championships

With his performance at the NCAA's, Norris secured his place among the best in the nation.

New York University junior Max Norris was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for men's diving on Monday, March 22.

At the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at Beloit College on March 17-20, Norris earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the three-meter dive. The Rochester, NY, native posted a 15th-place total of 402.95 points.

By landing in spots 9-16, Norris secured Honorable Mention All-American status, the first such honor of his career.

In the one-meter event, he took 20th place with a total of 392.60 points.

"Max had a great performance in his first national competition," said NYU diving coach Scott Donie. "I couldn't be more proud and I look forward to returning next year with him."

Norris, the 2009-10 UAA Men's Diver of the Year, has now been named the UAA Athlete of the Week 17 times in his career. including nine times this season.

His performances throughout the season helped NYU post a 7-4 dual-meet record and a fifth-place finish at the UAA Championships (2/17-20).
