Men's Basketball Ranked 3rd in East Region

NCAA Division III Regional Rankings
In the first set of regional rankings released by the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Committee, New York University is ranked third of five teams rated.
The Violets are 12-5 in the region and 13-5 overall through games of Jan. 31, the cutoff date for the first regional rankings. They trail St. John Fisher College (15-4 region, 16-4 overall) and Stevens Institute of Technology (15-4, 15-4), although they own a decisive 83-59 victory over Stevens Tech in both teams' season opener on Nov. 15.
Winners of three straight games, NYU returns to action Friday, Feb. 5, when it travels to Pittsburgh to face University Athletic Association rival Carnegie Mellon University at 8 p.m.
