Steve Herishen began serving as the Assistant Athletic Director - John A. Paulson Center in June 2023 after working in the same position at the Palladium Athletic Facility (PAF) at New York University since September 2012.
In his current role, Herishen is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the newly-opened Paulson Center. Similar to his previous responsibilities at PAF, he oversees facility needs and collaborates on capital improvement projects for the department. An active member of the NYU community, Herishen also serves on the Student Affairs Professional Development Committee.
Prior to attaining his current position, Herishen served the NYU Department of Athletics in several other capacities. As an assistant wrestling coach from 1998-2004, he helped his teams win two University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships and produce three NCAA All-Americans. Herishen has also worked as NYU’s Assistant Equipment Room Manager (2002-04) and Aerobic Fitness & Weight Room Manager (2004-12).
A 1995 Manhattan College graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and international business. Herishen compiled a 76-42-2 record as a wrestler at the NCAA Division I level. A two-time captain and team MVP, he was a Northeast Conference Champion and NCAA Division I Championship qualifier who was inducted into the College’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.
Herishen, who earned a Master of Science degree in sports management from NYU in 2011, enjoys competing in triathlons and has completed Ironman events in Switzerland, France and New York City.
A native of Turnersville, NJ, Herishen resides in Huntington, NY, with his wife Meredith and their two children, Liam and Coralei.
