Spencer Bozsik was hired as New York University’s first full time men’s and women’s assistant tennis coach in October 2026.
Bozsik brought a combination of high-level collegiate playing experience, proven player development success, and advanced analytical expertise to his new role.
A 2021 graduate of the University of Virginia (UVA) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Information Technology, Bozsik was a four-year member of the Cavaliers’ NCAA Division I tennis team. He played on Virginia’s ACC Championship-winning team and went on to become the first player in program history to be elected team captain after walking on.
Competing at a peak Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of ~12.0 in singles and 12+ in doubles, Bozsik went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Data Science from Virginia in 2022.
While at UVA, Bozsik was honored with the prestigious T. Rodney Crowley Scholarship for merit and character, as well as the Gus Tebell Memorial Award, presented to the graduating male student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA.
Since 2022, Bozsik has established himself as a sought-after private tennis coach in New York City, managing a roster of over 20 junior and adult players. His player development acumen is highlighted by his work with Nicholas Oh, whom he guided from a 4.4 UTR to an 8.3 UTR—a near four-point leap—ultimately positioning him to play #1 singles at Bard College. Bozsik also serves as a volunteer mentor with the USTA Eastern Collegiate Advisory Board, where he guides prospective student-athletes through the college recruitment and transition process.
Bozsik’s professional background also includes experience as a Data Scientist at Capital One and CarMax. His expertise in predictive modeling, match-data tracking, and tactical performance evaluation translates directly into player metrics, lineup optimization, doubles pairings, and opponent scouting.
A native of Charlottesville, VA, Bozsik resides in New York City.
