Rose Bowen

Rose Bowen began serving as full-time Assistant Natatorium Manager of the Palladium Athletic Facility in October 2017 following a part-time stint in the same capacity beginning in January 2016. Her primary responsibilities included creating and updating the lifeguard and supervisor schedules, hiring and training new lifeguards, conducting lifeguard in-services, and maintaining health and safety standards. 

Bowen was promoted to Natatorium Manager at the John A. Paulson Center when the facility opened prior to the 2023-24 academic year.  

A 2014 graduate of NYU’s Global Liberal Studies Program with a concentration in politics, rights and development, Bowen pursued minors in anthropology, environmental studies and Spanish, and was a member of the Politics Club.

As an undergraduate, Bowen worked as a lifeguard at the Palladium from 2012-14.

Bowen went on to earn a master’s degree in bioethics from NYU’s College of Global Public Health in 2016. She focused on environmental ethics and food politics, and successfully defended her thesis on Population Control in China and India. While working towards her graduate degree, Bowen worked at the Palladium as a graduate student supervisor in the Natatorium.

Bowen was born and raised in St. Paul, MN, and resides in Brooklyn, NY.
