Kira Keegstra joined the New York University Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation staff as the Recreation Assistant in 2000. She was promoted to the position of Recreation Director during the 2015-16 academic year, and her current title is Recreation Coordinator - Aquatics, Group Fitness and Wellbeing Programs.
Included among Keegstra’s wide range of duties are designing, managing and directing the NYU recreation program, which annually serves 4,000 students, faculty, alumni, family, and community members. Venues include NYU’s 404 Lafayette Fitness, Palladium Athletic Facility and Brooklyn Athletic Facility.
A 2000 graduate of NYU’s College of Arts and Science with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics, Keegstra began working for the department as a student employee during her sophomore year.
Keegstra, who also aids the Violets’ Athletic Communications Office at many home events, is a native of Lincolnwood, IL, and resides in Brooklyn, NY.
