Jon Diaz returned to the New York University track & field team as a volunteer assistant coach prior to the 2025-26 season.
A five-year member of the NYU track & field team, Diaz was a mid-distance runner. During the 2024-25 season, he took third place at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Championships in the 800 meters and earned NCAA All-Niagara Region honors.
Diaz, who graduated from NYU in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, currently holds the NYU record for the indoor 1000 meters (2:26.37).
A native of Brookline, MA, Diaz is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Business from NYU’s School of Professional Studies.
