Jen Richard began working as an assistant coach of the New York University softball team in September 2025.
Prior to NYU, Richard gained a great deal of coaching experience at all levels of the game as both a head coach and an assistant coach. Most recently, she served as the assistant softball coach at The College of New Jersey from 2021-24. During her time there, Richard primarily focused on the outfielders and hitting/slapping.
The Lions posted a 112-38 record during her tenure.
Richard led the University of the Sciences softball team as head coach from 2014-16. Her responsibilities included overseeing the program, running practices and lifts, serving as the athlete academic advisor, and coordinating the team’s travel.
Richard has also coached at the youth and high-school level, serving as a head coach for the Jersey Flames softball organization from 2011-20. She held the role of assistant softball coach at J.W Hallahan High School in 2018.
A 2011 graduate of Philadelphia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and Communications. A four-year member of their softball team, Richard earned CACC (Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) First Team and Honorable Mention accolades in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
Richard continued her studies at Temple University, earning a master’s degree in Sports Business in 2018.
