Issara Schmidt joined New York University as an assistant diving coach for the 2025-26 season.

Schmidt returns to NYU following one of the most accomplished diving careers in program history. A four-year team member, she was five-time NCAA All-American, earning First Team honors in the 1-meter dive and Second Team honors in the 3-meter dive at the NCAA Championships as sophomore following First Team honors in the 1-meter as a freshman. Schmidt added additional All-America honors as a senior, finishing seventh in the 1-meter and 10th in the 3-meter.

A 2025 NYU graduate with Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Economics, Schmidt also excelled at the regional level, capturing three NCAA Northeast Regional titles during her career (3-meter twice).

Earning multiple University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honors throughout her career, Schmidt was also recognized for her academic achievements as a multi-time CSCAA Scholar All-American and UAA All-Academic honoree. An NYU Presidential Honors Scholar, she also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

In addition to her current role with the team, Schmidt also works for EmpowerED Consulting, a group that collaborates and consults on improvements for NYC Public School sites.

A native of Winona, MN, Schmidt resides in New York City.
