Holly Crane, who joined New York University as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in December 2021, was elevated to Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in June 2026.
Crane is responsible for student-athlete performance, health and development while also overseeing the strength and conditioning coaching staff. She works with all of NYU’s 23 varsity teams, implementing evidence-based and data-driven programs.
Prior to her arrival at NYU, Crane served as a strength and conditioning coach at multiple levels, including NCAA Division I Fordham University where she worked as a Strength and Conditioning Intern in 2018. Also a self-employed personal trainer in the New York City area, Crane worked as the Strength and Conditioning Coach at The Calhoun School on the Upper West Side of Manhattan from 2017-18.
A 2012 graduate of Williams College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Comparative Literature and Africana Studies, Crane earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota in 2017, where she also taught weight training and conditioning while working toward her master's degree.
A native of Windsor, MA, residing in Brooklyn, NY, Crane is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer.
