Dominick Ciaccia

Dominick Ciaccia

A longtime employee of the NYU Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation, Dominick Ciaccia was promoted to Associate Athletic Director prior to the 2018-19 academic year. He previously served as Senior Assistant Athletic Director-Palladium Athletic Facility after five years as Assistant Athletic Director-Palladium Athletic Facility.
 
Among his many responsibilities, Ciaccia is in charge of capital projects, external facility contracts and leases, practice and competition facility scheduling, Natatorium staff, and IT staff. His facility work also includes helping to acquire off-site space for varsity practices and competition at venues such as Pier 40, Randall’s Island, Battery Park, Staten Island University Hospital Community Park, the Nike Track & Field Center at the Armory, and the Bahoshy Softball Complex. Additionally, Ciaccia is the Sport Supervisor for the men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track & field, Wrestling, and baseball teams.
 
Previously, Ciaccia served as Intramural Coordinator from 2000-12, as well as Assistant Facility Supervisor from 2010-12. He also worked as Coles Operations Supervisor/Student Payroll Coordinator from 1998-2000 and as a student operations employee from 1994-98.
 
Ciaccia has been an active member of the NYU community. He has served as co-chair of the Global Network University (GNU) Staff Development Committee, on the NYU Student Affairs Professional Development Committee, the LiveWellNYU Alcohol and Other Drugs Work Group, the NYU Student Affairs Hallmark Awards Selection Committee, National NIRSA (National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association) Expo, and is the former co-chair of the LiveWellNYU Physical Activity Work Group. Ciaccia is currently serving as Vice Chair of the NYU Student Affairs Assessment Team, and is also a committee member for the NACDAIIIAA Awards Committee.
 
In 2011, Ciaccia received the NYU Student Affairs “Rising Star” Award. He had previously been honored with the NYU Student Affairs Hallmark Award in 2009. In 2016, Ciaccia was a NYU Team Achievement Award recipient due to his work collaboration on the expansion project in Brooklyn.
 
Ciaccia earned a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs Administration from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development in 2011.
 
A longtime member of NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation, and a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) men’s and women’s soccer championship selection committees, Ciaccia is a native of Brooklyn, NY, and resides in Berkeley Heights, NJ.
