In an historic hire in August 2026, Angel Agu became the first full-time assistant coach in the annals of New York University women's volleyball.
Agu entered NYU with a wealth of collegiate coaching experience, spending the prior two seasons as the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Columbia University.
Agu served as Head Coach at the University of Rhode Island for three season (2021-23) following stints as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at the University of Wisconsin (2018-20) and as a Graduate Assistant at LaSalle University (2017-18).
All of those stops took place at NCAA Division I institutions.
A 2016 graduate of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and minors in Biology and Women Gender Studies, Agu was a five-year member of the volleyball team and served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The Flyers won four Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament Championships and made four NCAA Division I Tournament appearances during her career, advancing to the Second Round each time.
A native of Dallas, TX, Agu resides in Long Beach, NY.
