Last season, Owolabi helped lead NYU to the Second Round of NCAA Division III Championship, the Violets’ first NCAA appearance since the team’s Elite Eight run in 2010. The 2013 squad amassed a 28-8 overall record, including a 4-3 record in University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin play and a 2-1 mark at the UAA Championship.

The Violets also went undefeated (9-0) at home in the Coles Sports Center en route to earning their 12th straight postseason bid.

Owolabi came to NYU after spending the 2012-13 season as an assistant volleyball coach at Hunt Volleyball Academy. While there, she worked with middle-school players on body mechanics while also providing on-court instruction.

Prior to that position, Owolabi served as a volunteer volleyball coach at the Atlanta International School, where she taught the fundamentals of the game to middle-school players.

Owolabi played one season of volleyball at Clark Atlanta University (NCAA Division II) before transferring to Georgia State.

A native of Nigeria, Owolabi resides in Manhattan.
