LaKell Havens

LaKell Havens, who is in her first season of her second stint as an assistant coach with the New York University women’s volleyball team, also served in the same role during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Her primary responsibility with the team will be in the area of recruitment.
 
During her previous two as an assistant under Head Coach Jolie Ward, Havens helped guide NYU to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship in 2013 and to an ECAC Metro/Upstate Championship appearance in 2012.
 
Havens returned to NYU after serving as an assistant coach at Division I Dartmouth College during the 2014 season. The team finished with an overall 13-12 record and a 4-10 mark in the Ivy League.
 
A May 2012 graduate of Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, Havens was a two-year starter at middle blocker for the Jaspers after transferring from Salt Lake Community College. A team captain and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team honoree as a senior, her 116 blocks that year ranked third highest in a single season in school history.

While During her two years at Manhattan, the Jaspers went 36-29, including a school-record 11 MAAC victories in 2010.

Havens is a native of St. George, UT.
