Sophia Strickland was hired as an assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at New York University in February 2024.
A 2020 graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health, Sociology, and Social Policy, Strickland went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Public Health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2022.
Strickland served as team captain of the Blue Jays’ tennis team (2016-21), where she ranked sixth in school history in total wins (105) and helped lead her teams to four consecutive Centennial Conference Championships. In 2019, Strickland qualified for the Spring NCAA Individual Doubles Tournament and ended the season ranked #14 nationally.
Following her graduation, Strickland was a healthcare consultant at Trinity Life Sciences. She also interned at the United States Senate, Green and Healthy Homes Initiative, Georgia Public Policy Foundation, and The Family Tree. Strickland volunteers weekly at Trinity Church Wall Street, where she assists in preparing and serving meals to homeless community members
A native of Alpharetta, GA, Strickland resides in Manhattan.
