Jennifer Kellner

Jennifer Kellner joined New York University as an assistant coach of the women’s tennis team prior to the 2017-18 campaign. She assists head coach Horace Choy with all facets of the program.

For the second straight season, Kellner helped lead the Violets to a 10-2 match record. NYU finished the season with its first-ever top-20 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) ranking, ending the campaign at #19. The Violets also won two of its three matches at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship, taking fifth place and matching the team’s highest finish since 2009.

Several team members also flourished in 2018-19. Sophomore Anna Maria Buraya ended the season ranked #32 in singles by the ITA, while the doubles pair of senior Fleura Shiyanova and junior Coco Kulle combined to win the ITA Northeast Region Doubles Championship and capture ITA Division III All-America recognition. Kulle also earned honors as First Team All-UAA Second Singles.

Kellner’s first campaign with the Violets was also extremely successful as the team posted a 10-2 overall record. Additionally, NYU earned its first-ever top-20 ITA ranking and ended the season at #20 nationally after peaking at #17 earlier in the season. Buraya, Kulle and Shiyanova all earned All-America honors. Additionally, Buraya and Kulle were named First Team All-UAA for singles and Honorable Mention All-UAA for doubles.

Kellner joined the Violets after a successful playing career at Division I University of Notre Dame. A four-year team member and two-time captain, she advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament her senior year.
Kellner earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting with honors in 2014 from Notre Dame, where she also received a Master of Science degree in accountancy with honors in 2015.

While earning her master’s degree, Kellner worked as a volunteer assistant coach for the Notre Dame women’s tennis team in the fall of 2014. Additionally, she has previous experience as an instructor at the Notre Dame Tennis Camp during the summer of 2012.

A Certified Public Accountant, Kellner also works as a Project Coordinator at Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness.

A native of Hauppauge, NY, Kellner resides in Manhattan.
