Biography

2010-11: Notched season-best times in the 100 back (1:00.15), the 100 free (54.88) and the 200 IM (2:15.92) at the UAA Championships (2/16-19)…posted third-place finishes in the 100 free (56.20) and the 100 back (1:04.17) vs. Vassar (1/29)…finished third in the 200 IM (2:22.82) vs. TCNJ (1/22) and in the 100 back vs. Springfield (1/15). 2009-10: Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships as part of the 400-free relay (3:34.97) at the UAA Championships (2/17-20)…recorded season-best times in the 100 free (54.20), 100 back (1:00.80) and 200 IM (2:12.60) at the UAA’s…produced 13 first-place finishes during the season…posted victories in the 200 IM (2:16.18) and the 400- free relay (3:44.45) at the season-opening NYU Invitational (10/24)…topped the field in the 200 IM (2:16.94), 400-free relay (3:44.05) and 800-free relay (8:09.12) at the Rochester Invitational (10/30-31)…finished first in the 100 free (56.54), 100 back (1:01.79) and  400-free relay (3:45.97) vs. Rowan (11/7)…won the 100 back (1:01.31) at the MIT Invitational (12/4-5), helping NYU to a first-place team finish…received the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports-Scholar Award. 2008-09: Second Team All-UAA in the 200- freestyle relay (NYU-record 1:38.09)…victorious in the 100 freestyle (55.40) and second in the 200 IM (2:17.74) at the NYU Invitational (10/11)…won the 100 freestyle (55.74) vs. Rowan (11/8), and the 200 IM (2:16.02) at The College of New Jersey (1/24) and vs. Case Western Reserve/Rochester (2:17.08, 11/1). High School: Four-year team member…received team MVP honors as a freshman, junior and senior…member of LA Cities Championship team as a senior…won the 400 freestyle and placed second in the 100 free, 100 back and 200-medley relay at that meet…earned the Todd Swanson Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement and Citizenship as a senior…worked with cats at Pet Pride…Honor Roll student. Personal: Minoring in metropolitan studies…enjoys traveling, writing, listening to music, and cooking…did an archeological dig on the Mayan ruins in Belize during the summer of 2009…studied abroad in Madrid, Spain…plans to work for Americorps then attend graduate school.
