“We’re really excited to have Abby on staff,” said NYU Head Coach Michele Canning. “I think she’ll be especially helpful working on our team’s offense.”

In addition to her duties on the NYU staff, Katz has served as a developmental coach in the New York Red Bulls organization since March 2014, where she focuses on the training of youth-aged players.

Katz has also served as a coach with many other organizations. In 2013, she oversaw the Future Stars Summer Camp and then spent the fall season as an assistant coach with both Trinity High School and Yeshiva University of the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). Katz also coached at the youth level with Super Soccer Stars and Backyard Sports.

A 2013 graduate of SUNY Purchase with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in graphic design, Katz was a four-year starter at center midfielder and two-year captain for the Panthers’ women’s soccer team. A three-time First Team All-Skyline Conference selection (2009, 2010, 2012), Katz was selected as Purchase’s Female Athlete of the Year, was the Skyline Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year and received the SUNY Chancellor Scholar-Athlete Award in 2013. She finished her career as the program’s all-time leading scoring, both career and single-season. Additionally, Katz was also a four-year starter and one-year captain with the Panthers’ softball team.

Katz, who also earned her Masters of sports administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University in July 2015, is a native of Livingston, NJ.
