Maria Stamos began serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the New York University men’s and women’s fencing teams in September 2025.
Stamos completed her undergraduate studies at NYU, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2024 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at NYU’s School of Global Health.
A standout four-year member of the women’s fencing team, Stamos was named the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Division III Foil Athlete of the Year in 2023 and 2025. Additionally, Stamos she earned USFCA First Team All-America honors for foil in 2022, 2023, and 2024, as well as an All-American Honorable Mention nod in 2025.
Selected to the USFCA All-Region Northeast Division III foil team four consecutive years, Stamos finished her NYU career with the fourth-most foil victories (127) in program history.
Stamos is a native and resident of New York City.
