Rylea Sandel joined the New York University softball staff as an assistant coach in January 2026. She is working mainly with the infielders.

A 2025 graduate of John Jay College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology, Sandel was four-year member of their softball team.

Sandel earned CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, was a four-year team captain, four-time CUNYAC All-Star, and helped lead the team to three CUNYAC Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.

A native of Deer Park, TX, Sandel resides in New York, NY.
