Grace Edelson Bio

Grace Edelson

Grace Edelson is in her third season as an assistant coach of the New York University women’s softball team. Her responsibilities include working with the team’s infielders and assisting with scouting reports and recruiting.

Edelson helped lead the Violets to a 21-20 record in 2018, including five wins in University Athletic Association (UAA) play. She also assisted in guiding the Violets to an ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) Division III Championship appearance, where the team advanced to the semifinals for the second year in a row. Junior Diana King earned First Team All-UAA honors while four other members of the team earned Second Team accolades. King additionally was named CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 as well as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Northeast Region.
 
In Edelson’s first season at NYU, the Violets went 19-19 overall and also posted five UAA victories. King and Claire Stefanelli were named First Team All-UAA, while Sage Schweiller received Second Team honors. Stefanelli led the squad in batting average (.370), while King led the team in hits (44), runs (43), home runs (8), and total bases (79).
 
A 2016 graduate of Dickinson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, Edelson was a four-year member of the Red Devils’ softball team. As a starting first baseman, she batted .417 with eight home runs and 35 runs batted in as a senior and earned team MVP and First Team All-Centennial Conference honors.

While at Dickinson, Edelson was also a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and worked as a Sports Medicine Student Assistant.

Edelson, who is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports business from NYU’s School of Professional Studies, is a native of Basking Ridge, NJ, and resides in Manhattan.
