Bridget Rafter is in her second season as an assistant coach of the New York University softball team. She assists in recruiting and film breakdown, while primarily working with the Violets’ pitching staff.
In Rafter’s first season at NYU, the Violets posted a 19-19 overall record, including five University Athletic Association (UAA) victories. NYU received a bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship and advanced to the semifinals.
Sophomores Diana King and Claire Stefanelli were named First Team All-UAA, while junior Sage Schweiller received Second Team honors. Stefanelli led the squad in batting average (.370), while King led the team in hits (44), runs (43), home runs (8), and total bases (79).
The Violets excelled in the classroom as well, as 11 players earned UAA Spring Sport All-Academic honors and 12 were named to the Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee (IAAC) Spring Honor Roll.
A 2015 graduate of Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, Rafter was a four-year member of the Crusaders’ (now River Hawks) softball team. She earned First Team All-Landmark Conference honors and was a member of Susquehanna’s Landmark Conference Championship team in 2013.
Rafter, who has also accumulated coaching experience as an Amateur Softball Association (ASA) softball clinic instructor, has previously been recognized as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Scholar-Athlete.
Rafter is a native and resident in Highlands, NJ.
