Biography

2019-20: Posted a 41-12 sabre record, raising his career total to 152, the most sabre wins in program history and the second-most victories overall…won 15 bouts at the Eric Sollee Invitational (2/1)…IAAC Spring Honor Roll.

 

2018-19: Did not attend NYU.

 

2017-18: Recorded the third-most sabre wins on the team with a 34-7 recordearned NCAA All-America honors with an 11th-place finish (3/22-25)Temple Open Sabre Champion (10/29)five-time UAA Athlete of the Week (10/30, 12/11, 2/19, 3/12, 3/26)North America Cup Division 1 Sabre Champion (1/5)NCAA Northeast Region Sabre Champion (3/11)NYU Junior Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

 

2016-17: Finished second on the team in victories, compiling a 46-18 sabre record...earned the second-most sabre victories and the fourth-most overall wins in a single season in program history...came in sixth place at the NCAA Championships, earning All-America honors...finished fourth at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships (3/12)...won the sabre competition at the season-opening Temple Collegiate Open (10/30)…went 11-1 at the Eric Sollee MIT Invitational (2/5)...earned a near-perfect 12-1 record at the Philadelphia Invitational (1/21)...five-time UAA Athlete of the Week (10/31, 12/11, 2/6, 3/13, 3/27).

 

2015-16: Led the team in sabre wins, compiling a 31-7 record…qualified for the NCAA Championships and finished 17th overall…four-time UAA Athlete of the Week (2/15, 2/29, 3/14, 3/28)…NYU Male Freshman of the Year.

 

High School: High school did not have a fencing team…two-year member of both the cross-country and soccer teams…also competed for Nellya Fencers…took third at the Junior North American Cup in November 2014…placed second for the Senior Team at the 2014 Nationals…earned a top-eight spot at the Junior NAC…finished among the top 16 at the 2015 Phoenix World Cup.

 

Personal: Volunteered with Soccer in the Streets and the Christopher League…interested in politics and enjoys watching television and movies…plans to continue fencing competitively after graduation, including competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics…plans to pursue a career in journalism or business.
