Biography

2009-10: Compiled a 32-25 record in epee, finishing with the third-most wins on the team…placed fifth overall in epee at the NCAA Northeast Regional (3/14)…came in 15th place at the NCAA Championships (3/25-28) in epee...UAA Athlete of the Week (3/15)...Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee Fall and Spring Honor Roll…UAA Winter Sport All-Academic honoree. 2008-09: Epee Bronze Medalist at IFA Championships (2/28)…ranked second on the team in victories, finishing with a 34-23 in epee…two-time UAA Athlete of the Week (1/26 and 3/2). 2007-08: Competed in epee and led the team in victories while posting the second-best winning percentage (36-15, .706). High School: Competed for the Fencing Center of Alaska and the (Washington) DC Fencing Club (Kodiak did not have a fencing team)…Alaska state champion in foil, epee and sabre in 2005…member of DC’s second-place Division 1 men’s epee team at the 2006 Summer Nationals and its third-place team in 2007…also finished fifth in junior men’s epee at the 2006 Summer Nationals…took third in cadet men’s epee at the 2003 Summer Nationals and 13th at the 2004 Junior Olympics…taught violin to children…voted Student of the Month in Oct. 2004. Personal: Minoring in creative writing…recipient of a College of Arts and Science scholarship…named to the Spring 2010 Dean’s List…inspired by Muhammad Ali…enjoys playing the violin.
