Aaron Walsh
Assistant Baseball Coach

Aaron Walsh is in his third season as Assistant Coach of the New York University baseball team, which began NCAA Division III varsity play for the first time in 2014-15.

Walsh, who mainly works with the team’s catchers and hitters while also serving as the recruiting coordinator, has helped lead the Violets to an overall 41-45 overall record and a 4-12 mark in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Violets won five of their last six games in 2016 and finished with a 20-22 record.

In Walsh’s first year with the team in 2015, featuring a roster of mainly freshmen and sophomores, he helped lead the team to a 12-5 record in the final 17 games en route to an overall 21-23 finish. During that campaign, Walsh was instrumental in the emergence of then-freshman pitcher Matthew Millus, who finished with seven saves, a 1.27 ERA in 28.1 innings, and was named Second Team All-UAA.

Walsh, who served as Assistant Coach at NYU-Poly for two seasons under NYU Head Coach Kimbler and as the department’s Sports Information Director, brought a great deal of collegiate coaching experience to the Violets’ staff.

Prior to his stint at NYU-Poly, Walsh served as Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Pitching Coach, and head of the campus fitness center at Hartwick College in 2005-06 (also under Kimbler). Walsh went on to serve as an assistant coach at Centenary College (2007-08) and at Union College (2010). At Centenary, he was also the Hitting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

Walsh also worked with Kimbler at the Double Play Baseball Academy in Albany, NY, from 1999-2005.

In 2007, Walsh served as Head Coach of the Ocean Giants of the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL) and led his team (comprised of Division I players), to the ABCCL playoffs.

A 2005 graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport, arts and entertainment management, Walsh is a native of East Greenbush, NY, and resides in Passaic, NJ.
