Sickle Cell Solubility Test Results Header

The NCAA requires confirmation of sickle cell trait status for all incoming student-athletes prior to participation in intercollegiate athletics. Most newborns, starting in 1990, are required to get tested at birth. You can retrieve the results of your sickle cell trait status in one of four ways:
  • Contact your doctor: Ask them to for your results and then upload the results into ATS
  • Contact your birth hospital: Ask for the records department and ask them to look up your results and send the results to you (then upload the results into ATS)
  • Contact your state's health department: Below is a link that has hyperlinks listed for each state. Find the state's contact information and call the office to retrieve your sickle cell trait results: https://www.cdc.gov/genomics/resources/h.htm
  • Get tested for sickle cell trait status : Contact your physician to schedule a SICKLE CELL SOLUBILITY TEST
