The Salisbury University volleyball team makes its sixth NCAA tournament appearance in program history this year, entering the field with a 30-4 record. The Sea Gulls are coming off of their 3-0 victory against Gallaudet University, which earned them their sixth Capital Athletic Conference Championship and the automatic bid into the NCAA field.

The Maroon and Gold’s outstanding season comes in part from the contributions of three seniors, who this year will be marking their final NCAA tournament appearances as Sea Gulls. Seniors Gabby Long, Nicole Massarelli and Rachel Downes have seen NCAA tournament play the past three seasons. This season, Massarelli and Downes both reached milestones as they each notched their 1000th career kill. Massarelli also became the school’s all-time blocks leader, and just days later, Gabby Long broke the school record for digs. The libero currently has over 2,200 digs in her four-year career at Salisbury.

The Sea Gulls will look to add to their 11-match win streak today as it faces off against the City College of New York. The teams played each other recently, on Oct. 30, with Salisbury coming away with a 3-0 victory.
