Olympic Gold Medalist Joins NYU Fencing

Jackie Dubrovich Added as Assistant Coach

Olympic Gold Medalist and two-time Olympian Jackie Dubrovich has been hired as an assistant coach of the New York University men's and women's fencing programs where she will work extensively with the teams' foil fencers.

Dubrovich joins NYU with an elite competitive record, highlighted by winning gold in Women's Team Foil at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a historic victory marking the first time Team USA earned gold in the event. A six-time U.S. Senior Team member who reached a career-high world ranking of No. 9, she also represented Team USA at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and has been named Team Captain for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.

"We're thrilled to welcome Jackie to the NYU Fencing family," said Head Coach Ben Bratton. "Her accomplishments at the highest levels of our sport speak for themselves, and she brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a championship mindset to our program. I'm especially excited about the impact she'll have in elevating and inspiring our women's team, serving as both a mentor and an example of what's possible through dedication and hard work. Jackie will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build NYU Fencing into a world class program."

A 2016 graduate of Columbia University, Dubrovich earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with concentrations in Russian Literature & Culture and Human Rights. A four-year team member and All-American, and two-year captain of the Lions' fencing team, she helped Columbia win two NCAA National Championships.

Dubrovich, who also possesses corporate experience in retail media leadership, remains in active governance roles on the USA Fencing Board of Directors and the Team USA Athletes' Commission.

Internationally, Dubrovich served as Assistant Women's Foil Team Coach for Team USA at the 2025 Cadet and Junior World Championships in Wuxi, China, helping lead the squad to a gold medal.

In addition to her international competition background, Dubrovich brings extensive coaching and club management experience to her new role. She is the co-founder, coach and business manager of the Polaris Fencing Center in Orange, NJ, where she oversees club operations and coaches athletes from grassroots levels to national and international competitions.

"I am very excited to join the NYU Fencing coaching staff and am grateful to Coach Bratton for this opportunity," Dubrovich said. "I'm looking forward to guiding the next generation of NYU fencers and working alongside such an accomplished coaching team."

A native of Riverdale, NJ, Dubrovich resides in Maplewood, NJ.
