The New York University baseball team closed out the regular season on Friday, May 2, traveling to Pennsylvania for a single game against the University of Scranton.
The two sides played a back-and-forth affair for the first seven innings, but the Violets ultimately dropped the game, 15-7, to close out the 2025 campaign.
Nick Argenziano sparked the Violets' offense in the top of the first inning, delivering a pitch over the left field wall for a two-run home run, his sixth dinger of the season.
Scranton tied the game in the bottom of the frame.
The Violets regained the lead in the fifth inning, taking advantage of a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to Kosta Mocklis.
Scranton jumped back in front with three RBI's in the bottom of the fifth and took a 5-3 lead.
The Royals added to their lead, 6-3, on a wild pitch in the sixth inning.
Mocklis turned his Friday into a multiple-RBI game in the seventh inning, driving a two-run homer to left center field. His 10th homer of the year pulled NYU within one run of the hosts, 6-5.
Scranton cemented the win in the bottom frame, totaling nine runs on six hits.
Despite Bruno Damiani drove in NYU's final run in the top of the ninth.
Cam Dunn conclude his NYU career with three hits.
NYU finished the season with a 20-17-1 record.
