The
#20-ranked New York University wrestling team went on the road Friday night, February 21, and pulled out a 24-18 victory over host Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
The Violets trailed 15-0 after the first four bouts, but came back to win five of the final six to wrestle control of the match.
The streak started with a decision victory by
John Mairano at 157, and was followed by four consecutive wins.
Hassan Khan (165) won by technical fall.
Nicky Bell (174) won by major decision.
Trent Furman (184) pinned his opponent, and the streak ended with
Luke DuPont also producing a pin (197).
The Violets now have a 14-6 dual-meet record this season.
Several members of the squad will take to the mat on Saturday for the Futures Tournament at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ, beginning at 9:00am.
