The New York University men's basketball team,
ranked #6 in the nation, posted an 80-73 road victory over Case Western Reserve University on Sunday, January 26, in Cleveland, OH.
Four Violets (15-1, 4-1) scored in double figures, led by
Brock Susko's 19 points.
Jack Stone finished with 16 points,
Hampton Sanders had 14 and
Tristan How added 13 and a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Violets led the Spartans (5-11, 1-4) most of the way, but never by more than eight points.
NYU led by only three, 73-70, with less than a minute to play.
But,
Zay Freeney connected on four consecutive free throws and Case Western Reserve never got closer than four the rest of the way.
The Violets will continue their University Athletic Association (UAA) road trip when they travel to play the University of Chicago on Friday, January 31, in the Windy City. Tip-off is set for 5:30pm central time.
