New York University's softball team celebrated Senior Day and completed its University Athletic Association (UAA) schedule on Sunday, April 28, falling to Brandeis University 9-1 at the College of Staten Island.

The Violets honored graduating student-athletes Lindsey Baron, Lily Candelaria, Madi Hand, Jayna Kramsky, Margaux Lesser, Lizzy Smith and Emily Stone prior to the game.

NYU opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, as Emma Aridi led off with a single and Lesser's sac bunt moved her to second. Baron followed with a single through the left side to give the Violets a 1-0 lead after the opening frame.

The Judges responded with a five-run second inning and kept NYU scoreless the rest of the way to take the win. Kramsky pitched 3.1 innings of relief, including a one-two-three fourth.

Aridi, Lesser, Baron, Hand and Alexa Very each recorded a hit while Hand's double was one of two extra base hits for either team on the day.

NYU concludes the 2024 campaign on Thursday, May 2, with a doubleheader against Hunter College beginning at 4:00pm at the College of Staten Island.
