Women's Volleyball Sweeps at Montclair

Violets Victorious in Regular Season Finale

The New York University women's volleyball team won its final match of the regular season, sweeping host Montcalir State University on Friday, November 8, in Montclair, NJ.

The Violets produced their 20th win of the season (20-10), and third in a row, with their 25-13, 25-16, 25-8 victory over the Red Hawks (19-7).

The Violets now head into postseason play when they compete at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship next weekend.

NYU was barely tested in Friday's match, trailing by one point early in the first set, never falling behind again and ending the three-set win on Helena Foord's kill.

Chloe Hynes led the Violets with 12 kills, while Jessica Spierenburg, Catherine Maffei and Grace Nelson each had seven.

Ava Launsbach (14) and Alden Roberts (13) each had double-digit assists, and Yooni Park's 11 digs were team high.

The Violets, seeded #6 in the eight-team UAA Championship, will face #3 Washington University in St. Louis in the first round. First serve is set for 1:00pm on Friday, November 15, at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
