The New York University men's basketball team was held to a season-low point total in a 72-55 defeat at the hands of the University of Rochester on Sunday, January 22, at the Brooklyn Athletic Facility.
Playing their second University Athletic Association (UAA) game of the weekend, the Violets were never able to grab a lead. Rochester scored the first four points of the game and remained ahead the rest of the way.

A pair of free throws by
Hayden Peek with 6:49 left in the game brought NYU within six, 53-47. But, the Yellowjackets embarked on a 16-0 run to secure the victory.
The Violets' lowest point total of the season prior to Sunday's game was the 61 they scored in a defeat at Brandeis University (81-61) on January 7.
Spencer Freedman led NYU with 16 points, while
Michael Savarino (11) was the only other Violet to reach double figures.
Quinn Clark snared a game-high 13 rebounds for the Violets.
Ross Gang led Rochester with 22 points.
The Violets return to action on Friday, January 27, for a home contest against Case Western Reserve University. That UAA contest is set to tip-off at 7:30pm at the Brooklyn Athletic Facility.
