Violets Defeat Mariners 38-10

The New York University wrestling team lifted its dual meet record to 7-3 with a 38-10 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, January 14, in Kings Point, NY.

NYU won eight of the 10 matches, with Tyler Crew (133), Cooper Pontelandolfo (165), Jason Geyer (174), and Scott DuPont (184) all recording falls.

Heavyweight Evan Anderson posted a technical fall over his opponent.

"I'm proud of the effort from top to bottom," said Associate Head Coach Corey Luce. "USMMA provided an electric atmosphere with their fans and our guys responed well."

NYU returns to the mat next Saturday, January 21, for the New York State Collegiate Championships in Rochester, NY.
