The New York University Men's Volleyball Team fell to host St. John Fisher on Saturday, March 5, in Rochester, NY, but the Violets didn't go down easy.
NYU (7-7, 3-2) dropped the first two games of the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) contest, but won the next two before falling short in game five.
The match scores were 25-17, 25-20, 21-25, 19-25, 15-11.
James Haag carried the Violets' attack, finishing with a team-high 15 kills and a block.
Tyler Flood had eight kills of his own with six assisted blocks.
Matthew Noel had seven kills and eight digs with four total blocks.
Ryan Whealen dished out 43 assists along with seven digs, three blocks and two aces.
Zach Knudsen paced the back line, bringing up a match-high 11 digs.
The Cardinals are now 14-4, 3-1 while NYU fell to 7-7, 3-2 UVC.
Next up is another road match, this time at St. Joseph's College (Long Island) on Tuesday, March 8, at 7 pm.
