Spencer Freedman scored a career-high 26 points to lead four Violets in double figures as New York University's men's basketball team picked up an 87-56 win at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY, on Tuesday night.

It was the Violets' first road game of the season and third straight victory to open the campaign.

Freedman, playing in his third game as a Violet after transferring from Harvard University, shot 10-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-9 from deep along with five assists, two boards and a steal.

Fellow graduate transfer Michael Savarino also dropped a career high, finishing with 15 points on lights-out 5-of-6 shooting from long range, adding three assists, three rebounds and a steal.

NYU fell behind early in this one—trailing 11-3 after five minutes of play—but rattled off 20 unanswered points, punctuated by Nikola Lipovic's transition triple at the 10:05 mark to take control.

This extended to a 28-3 run as the Violets began to run away towards the end of the half. Holt Bashinsky buried a three with six seconds left in the first to establish a 46-29 advantage for NYU at the break.

The Violets never let CMSV within 16 points for the entire second half, holding the Dolphins to 28.6 percent shooting across the final 20 minutes to secure a lopsided victory.

Zay Freeney contributed 11 points for NYU as well as six rebounds, four assists and a takeaway. Cinque Stephens was the Violets' other double-digit scorer, finishing with 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting.

Quinn Clark chipped in seven points, a game-high eight boards and two steals. Bashinsky did a little bit of everything, posting six points, seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal.

NYU shot 41.6 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from deep while forcing 27 CMSV turnovers.

The Violets return home for their next outing, taking on Moravian University on Saturday, November 19, at 2:00 pm at the Brooklyn Athletic Facility.
