Women's Soccer Drops First

Violets Blanked by #7 Case Western Reserve 3-0

The New York University women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2022 season, dropping a 3-0 decision to #7-ranked Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, October 8, at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.

It was NYU's first home University Athletic Association (UAA) game of the season, as the Violets dropped to 5-1-5, 0-1-1.

The Spartans' unblemished record is now 10-0, 2-0.

Case opened the scoring at 36:59 when Maggie Farra scored on an assist from Lizzie White.

The Spartans doubled their lead at 68:10 when Camryn Hartman's shot was stopped by NYU goalkeeper Riley Felsher, but the rebound went to Samantha Cramin who shot it past a diving Felsher.

The Spartans' final goal was scored in the last minute of play (89:33) by Anika Washburn unassisted.

Tyler Hawkins played the first half in net for the Violets and recorded one save (as did Felsher).

Maggie Storti finished with three saves for Case.

The Violets return to action on Friday, October 14, when they face Emory University in Atlanta, GA. That UAA match-up set to kickoff at 7:30pm.
