Olivia Lewandowski of New York University's
sixth-ranked women's volleyball team earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week - Offense honors for her performances on the court last week.
The Violets played and won three matches with Lewandowski being a major contributor to their success. Achieving the first AOW of her collegiate career, Lewandowski averaged double-digit kills. She totaled six kills against Stockton University in a 3-0 sweep, 13 in a 3-1 victory over Stevens Institute of Technology and 12 in a sweep of Kean University.
Against Stevens, Lewandoski had zero errors while posting a season-high .591 hitting percentage. For the week she hit .403.
Lewandowski also added 14 digs to her week's resumé.
So far this season, Lewandowski is second on the team with 225 kills and 2.71 per set.
"Olivia is an explosive player who goes out, takes risks and achieves big results because of her level of play," said Head Coach
Andrew Brown.
Lewandowski and the rest of women's volleyball will next take to the court to face Montclair State University on Tuesday, October 25, at St. Francis College - Brooklyn.
