The New York University women's soccer team scored a
3-1 victory at Vassar College on Sunday, September 1, in Poughkeepsie, NY to closeout its weekend road trip.
NYU senior
Isabella De Almagro (Pembroke Pines, FL/American Heritage) started the scoring for the Violets in the 48th minute after she ran down an open field and beat the Vassar goalkeeper Fiona Walsh. The Brewers tied the game,1-1, after a Gabi Tulk header in in the 63rd minute.
The Violets extended the lead to 2-1, later in the second half when senior
Alex Benedict (Avon, CT/Avon) scored off of a cross from sophomore
Ellie Marks (Seattle, WA/University Prep).
Junior
Sam March (Glastonbury, CT/Kingswood Oxford School) closed out the scoring and tabbed her first goal as a Violet in the 88th minute as she beat Walsh to the left side of the net.

Meghan Marhan (Glen Ridge, NJ/Glen Ridge) made four saves in the victory.

The Violets return to action on Saturday, September 7, as they head across the Hudson River to take on St. John Fisher College at 5pm at the Stevens Engineering Cup in Hoboken, NJ.
